Some china just has a boldness to it. American Beauty is like that. Royal Albert produced it from 1941 to 1998, and the roses were never shy about taking up space.

This one caught a single bloom in the middle of opening. Pink, layered, the deeper colour pooling at the centre the way it does on the real flower. A few lighter petals reach outward. The white ground around it is clean and bright. The silver frame is oval, hand-formed wire gathered at the top into a neat wrap. It sits on a silver chain and it suits one.
