The tall rectangle frame gives this one a different quality than the others. A full rose sits at the bottom, deep and warm, the petals turning from salmon to amber at the centre. Above it, a stem rises with green leaves and a closed bud, still waiting. The composition reads almost like a botanical illustration: bloom below, bud above, the whole life of the rose in one narrow frame.
