Large round gold, full blossom
In 1975 Royal Albert looked west across an ocean and made something for Canada. The Dogwood pattern was their tribute to British Columbia, part of a twelve-pattern series honouring each province's official floral emblem. Bold, graphic, confident. Everything the English pottery world usually wasn't when it came to florals.
One large blossom fills this round frame almost completely, white petals spread wide, the yellow centre sitting right at the heart of the piece. Rich green leaves just visible at the edges. The circle contains the whole pattern in a single breath.
The setting is gold wire, hand-formed into a generous circle that gives the blossom room. The loop at the top is warm and considered. On a gold chain this pendant is a statement. A quiet one, but a statement nonetheless.
