Haworth Oval, The Mark of the Maker, Gold

The maker's mark, worn as a pendant.

This fragment came from the back of the plate, where Royal Albert signed their work. The backstamp is all there: the name, the pattern, the copyright date of 1982, printed in the deep rose the brand used for its mark. Above it, a small cluster of Haworth blooms sits exactly where it always did, white petals and soft green leaves, as if the china knew this piece deserved a little decoration too. The gold wire wrap holds it neatly, warm against the white.

Not every piece carries its own proof of origin. This one does.
