It's A Small World Rectangle, The Lady in the Bonnet, Silver

Rectangle. A lady in a bonnet, carrying flowers, dressed for somewhere worth going.

She wears a blue skirt with a latticed pattern and a warm terracotta bodice, her bonnet tipped just so. The style is the kind that puts a single figure at the centre of a very decorated world, painted with the care of someone who believed small people on china deserved to be rendered properly. The fragments of her original piece show green and gold rococo scrollwork, floral medallions, gilt borders. She came from somewhere grand.

The pendant is just her. Set in bright silver wire, hand-formed into a rectangular frame with a looped bale at the top. The white ground is clean behind her.

She has been waiting to be worn for a long time.
