One bloom, face-on, filling the oval almost edge to edge. The petals spread wide and even, deep pink fading softer toward the centre, and the yellow stamens sit right at the heart of it. A warm brown stem comes in at the lower left. That's all. No crowding, no second flower reaching in. Just the rose, open and unhurried, the way the wild ones always look when they're at their best.
