Two beetles on clean white china. One larger, warm reddish-brown with dark legs, detailed enough to identify as a proper specimen illustration. One smaller, rounder, deep purple-black, just above it. Nothing else. No flowers, no foliage, no context. Just the beetles, rendered with the same care a naturalist would give them, against all that white space. Not everyone's pendant.
