Winsome Teardrop, The Bud and the Branch, Gold

A pink rosebud sits near the top of the frame, not yet open, still gathered tight. Below it, the stem reaches down in a loose S-curve, a few dark green leaves fanning out on either side, and at the base a small cluster of blue forget-me-nots finishes the composition. The whole thing reads like a single sprig cut from a garden that had plenty more to offer. Unhurried. Complete on its own terms.
