Royal Albert produced this pattern from 1980 to 2001 on fine bone china, twenty years of pink, burgundy, and yellow roses on the classic Montrose shape with its softly scalloped edges and gold trim. It was the kind of china that came down from the shelf for the occasions that mattered. Birthdays, anniversaries, the Sunday when someone decided the day deserved something better than ordinary.

The roses are generous and unrestrained, the way a good garden arrangement is, colours that sit together warmly without competing. The gold at the rim holds it all in. Royal Albert understood that combination and used it beautifully for decades.
